Palm Jumeirah Tourist Must Do's

The serene, long stretch of private beach is an absolute must if you are living on the Palm. It is practically, if not literally, on your door step.

Bidi Bondi's bar offers the feel of an Aussie Beach Bar with typical snack foods.

Visit the Atlantis Hotel for its magnificent architecture, its incredible aquarium (containing hundreds of different species of fish) and its multitude of Michelin star restaurants. You'll find this an attraction for many of the locals as well. The water park, Aqua Venture (the biggest in the Middle East), at the Atlantis is a must if you have kids or fancy a relaxing day. The key attraction here is  a very tall slide which ends in a pool surrounded by sharks - luckily you are protected by persepex glass where you can see the sharks swimming around you from a safe distance.

Do not miss Nassimi bar at the Altantis beach. A cool bar in its own right but special for its beach parties that have live DJ's, beach bean bags, shisha and a superb coctail menu - not to mention an incredible view.

Restaurants

The Palm has a limited number of dining options ranging from reasonably priced to very expensive.  There are five restaurants along the beach clubs of the shoreline buildings. They offer a good range from burgers, barbeques, asian cuisine and fine dining between them.  The other restaurants are found at the Atlantis which offers excellent dining options but in the upper end of price segment. This ranges from authentic French Bakery to three Michelin star chef's owned Nobu restaurant amongst the various other restaurants in the Atlantis. More dining options are set to be available on the Palm soon.

Located next to the entrance of the Palm, there are several hotels which offer some of the best cuisine in Dubai. These can be found in the 3 Jumierah Group Hotels at the One and Only Royal Mirage, the Westin and the Meridien Mena Sehayi.

Our tips to try out:

Famous restaurants to try out are the Eau Zone at the One and Only Royal Mirage which is set in a wonderful outdoor setting and Bursola terrace at the Westin which enjoys an unparalleled view of the Palm.  Nobu offers a classy option in Japanese cuisine in the Palm Atlantis Hotel. The Atlantis is also home to several restaurants set up by Michelin Star Chef's including the French restaurant, Rostang, the Italian, Locattelli's, a superb steakhouse and the 2 Michelin Star Ossiana which has the famous Aquarium as one of its walls.

Good For:

  • Those seeking something along the lines of an island paradise resort with private beach.
  • Supreme luxury, dining options, bars at the Atlantis.
  • Serene and very peaceful but all facilities nearby.
  • Close to most of Dubai's new attractions.

Not for those:

  • While not perfect, it is hard to find anything bad to say about the Palm!
